Why Koekje?
The word “cookie” comes from the Dutch word koekje, which literally translates to “little cake“. I chose this name because I believe every cookie should be special and a piece of happiness in every bite.

Fun Fact
In the 17th century, Dutch bakers would drop small spoonfuls of cake batter into the oven to test the temperature before baking a full-sized cake. These tiny “test cakes” were actually delicious snacks, and the practice eventually led to them becoming a treat in their own right.
